Category: the Rant Board
my school board is bringing block scheduling to my school. the thing that makes me mad is that they did not tell anyone. ,not even the teachers!!! what kind of school board is that!!!!
Oh well it's block scheduling, deal with it. It's more like college, although you probably will never go to an institution of higher learning so it doesn't matter.
you don't know what you are talking about, and i don't have a problem with the block scheruling, it is how the board brought it up to the teachers.
I personally think block scheduling would suck big time. I'm fortunate it was not part of my high school experience. But Jared's right, the long class periods are like college. Try having a 3 hour class with ten minutes of break.
I liked block schedules
I would agree that if the students and teachers weren't informed about anything, then that would stink. I think we had something like that when I was in high school, where we had an A Day (with 4 classes), and then a B Day (with the other 4 classes), and then on Fridays, we had a really screwed up day called C Day (with all our classes). But the Board or whoever set up our school like that soon learned that C Day wasn't working out, so they took it out. After that, I didn't mind too much, but it did get confusing after the weekends because you had to remember whether that past Friday was an A or B Day, so you'd know which books to take on Monday. That was the only sucky thing about it. But I didn't too much mind only 4 classes each day, because that would mean an extra day to do your homework. *smiles*
We had a similar schedule when I was in High School. The only difference was we had one set of classes the first semester and the second set the next semester, and our last period of the day was a split period; so there was a possibility you could have 2 short classes in that same period.
